Explore the future of sustainable driving with the 2025 Nissan EV lineup
The 2025 Nissan LEAF: a city-ready EV with enhanced technology
The 2025 Nissan LEAF solidifies its position as a reliable and affordable electric vehicle option, ideal for urban commutes and eco-conscious drivers. The starting price of the 2025 Nissan LEAF is $29,280, ranging up to $37,330 depending on the trim and selected options. It's important to note that the 2025 model may no longer qualify for the federal EV tax credit, which was available for the 2024 model year. Despite this, its starting price remains competitive in the EV market.
Key features of the 2025 Nissan LEAF
  • Range and Battery Options: The base S trim features a 40 kWh battery with an estimated range of up to 149 miles, while the SV Plus trim offers a larger 60 kWh battery providing an estimated range of up to 212 miles.
  • Performance: The S trim generates 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, while the SV Plus boasts a more powerful 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The LEAF offers e-Pedal for one-pedal driving, simplifying acceleration and deceleration.
  • Technology and Safety: Both trims come standard with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The LEAF includes Nissan Safety Shield® 360, a suite of safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. The SV Plus adds ProPILOT Assist for semi-autonomous driving assistance on highways.
  • Charging: The LEAF supports both Level 2 home charging (taking 7.5 hours for the 40 kWh battery and 11 hours for the 60 kWh battery) and DC fast charging. It's worth noting that the LEAF uses a CHAdeMO fast-charging port, which is becoming less common than CCS and NACS standards, according to Edmunds. Adapters can be used to mitigate this issue.
The 2025 Nissan Ariya: a luxury EV SUV with advanced features
The 2025 Nissan Ariya, an all-electric SUV, combines stylish design, advanced technology, and a focus on driver convenience and safety. Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Ariya starts at $39,770.
Key features of the 2025 Nissan Ariya
  • Trims and Options: The Ariya lineup includes Engage FWD, Engage e-4ORCE, Evolve+ FWD, Engage+ e-4ORCE, Evolve+ e-4ORCE, and Platinum+ e-4ORCE trims.
  • Battery and Range: The Ariya offers two battery sizes: a 66 kWh battery and a 91 kWh battery. The Evolve+ FWD with the 91 kWh battery offers an estimated range of 289 miles.
  • Technology and Safety: The Ariya features dual 12.3-inch displays for intuitive control, along with ProPILOT Assist 2.0, enabling hands-off highway driving in specific conditions. It also includes the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety features.
  • Charging: Nissan offers a seamless home charging solution in collaboration with Wallbox and complimentary charging offers through EVgo. Nissan also has a large network of high-speed EV chargers at U.S. dealerships.
  • Reliability: The 2025 Nissan Ariya is built on a foundation of quality engineering and promises long-term dependability, especially for drivers transitioning to EVs.
The future of Nissan EVs
Nissan is committed to advancing EV technology, including solid-state battery technology, which promises higher energy density, faster charging times, and longer lifespans. The company is also introducing ultra-fast charging solutions capable of charging vehicles in under 20 minutes. Furthermore, Nissan is expanding its e-Power technology, which uses gas solely to recharge the battery, across more models, providing an electric driving experience without external charging. Nissan is actively working to expand access to fast-charging stations and has integrated 5G connectivity into its vehicles for faster communication and features like remote diagnostics and over-the-air updates.
The next-generation Nissan LEAF, built on the AmpR Medium platform and sharing components with the Ariya, will be a subcompact crossover with an estimated range of over 300 miles on select configurations. It will also be the first Nissan vehicle to adopt the North American Charging System (NACS), making it compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network. The next-generation LEAF is expected to be released in late 2025 as a 2026 model year vehicle.
Nissan's 2025 EV lineup represents a step forward in electric mobility, offering a range of vehicles and technologies designed to make the transition to electric driving more accessible and enjoyable.
