Performance
Erlanger, KY buyers only get one engine option in the new Murano. This is the 3.5-liter V6 powertrain. The V6 is capable of 260 horsepower and 240 torque enough to make the crossover efficient and reliable. With this engine, premium fuel is not an essential item. Regular 87 octane fuel is sufficient for this engine. The engine connects to a continuously variable transmission. Unlike the CVTs of other manufacturers, the Nissan CVT is more capable in its performance. This is because its handling resembles a traditional automatic transmission. The standard arrangement is front-wheel drive. However, four-wheel drive is optional. The crossover can tow as high as 1,500 pounds. The EPA rates the engine at 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
Interior
The cabin can hold five passengers due to its two rows of seating. Taller adults will appreciate the front headroom and legroom more than those in the rear seats. However, the rear seats also have adequate headroom and legroom. The cushioning on the front seats is very supportive and reduces fatigue on long drives. They are manually adjustable and cloth-covered in base models. However, in higher models, front seats are power adjusted and covered in leather. Cargo space in the new Murano measures 32.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats. With the seats stowed, the volume improves to 67 cubic feet.
Safety
We cannot mention a Murano without highlighting its safety. It is a crossover, which means that families will rely on it for safe transportation to all places. The new package that boosts the safety profile of the new Murano is the safety shield 360. It makes it stand out from older Muranos in the Cincinnati market. This package is standard for all Muranos. It features lane-keeping assist, pedestrian detection, automatic rear braking, adaptive cruise control, and a blind-spot monitor. An around-view monitor and NissanConnect services are also available in the new Murano. The former is only standard on two trims; the Platinum and SL models. It displays the crossover's overhead image and its surrounding during parking and backing up. Lastly, NissanConnect Services is a premium feature only available in the Platinum model. It has a SiriusXM satellite radio that notifies emergency services when the crossover has been stolen or involved in a collision.
